There is a temptation to bemoan modern naming habits, particularly among celebrities of a certain B-Grade standing, however for those who have their hearts set on claiming that it's all a product of the age in which we find ourselves, I offer this short piece from Freeman's Journal, 5 June 1867, which I came across this morning while looking for something else entirely. The 'Lynchburg Virginian' states that in Montgomery county, Virginia, a child has been christened "Andrew Jackson Gordon James Buchanan Raise The Flag And Fire The Canon Dobyns."

One can only hope the child was home schooled ...
